[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mido is an apartment located on the ninth floor. Its owners are uncomfortable with heights, so one of the main objectives was to reduce the sense of being detached from the ground and create a space that feels anchored and secure.

Wood and stone form the basis of the material palette. Their density, natural origin and tactile qualities give the interior a sense of solidity, while the smooth treatment of the surfaces maintains its connection to the urban context. The apartment does not imitate a country house, but introduces some of the qualities often missing from living at height.

The kitchen is built around the contrast between restrained blue cabinetry and warm, honey-toned ash veneer. This division is both visual and functional. The blue volume contains the refrigerator, dishwasher and stone sink, while the timber section defines the area associated with preparing and sharing food. Colour and material make the organisation of the kitchen legible without introducing unnecessary visual accents.

In developing Mido, we were interested not in classicism as a prescribed style, but in tradition as a source of familiarity. Recognisable proportions, materials and individual furniture forms create a foundation on which elements from different periods can coexist. As a result, the interior feels contemporary without being tied to a particular moment or trend.

The spacious hallway connects all the rooms of the apartment. Most of its surfaces are smooth, while one wall is finished with contrasting weathered timber. This visually broadens the space, adds material depth and protects the surface most exposed to everyday wear.

In the bathroom, the contrast between white terrazzo and warm timber combines a sense of cleanliness with tactility and warmth. A wide washbasin establishes the main horizontal line within the room, while soft lighting beside the mirror reduces harsh shadows on the face.

The space reveals itself gradually: first through a restrained view from the entrance, and then through the contrast of materials and changing sense of depth within the room. A generous walk-in shower was chosen instead of a bathtub as the more comfortable solution for everyday use.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
